The U.S. Mint opens 2026 with the Iowa American Innovation dollar, followed by the January release of the American Eagle one-ounce silver proof and Congratulations Set.
Kicking off the new year, the U.S. Mint’s first release of 2026 was the Iowa American Innovation dollar, depicting Dr. Norman Borlaug and his achievements in developing resilient crops. The rolls and bags went on sale on January 6.
Before the end of the month, the 2026 American Eagle one-ounce silver proof coin, along with the 2026 Congratulations Set, will be released. The classic Walking Liberty design by Adolph A. Weinman continues to be featured on the obverse, with the new eagle design introduced in 2021 gracing the reverse. The Congratulations Set includes an American Eagle Silver Proof Coin with the “W” mint mark. Both the individual Proof coin and the Congratulations Set will be released on January 20.
