A new addition to the Presidential Silver Medals series celebrates William H. Taft’s enduring legacy as both president and Chief Justice of the United States.

The next edition in the Presidential Silver Medals program features William H. Taft. Taft was the 27th President of the United States, serving from 1909 to 1913. He became Chief Justice of the United States in 1921.

The obverse depicts the former president with the inscription “WILLIAM H. TAFT.” The reverse has the inscription “INAUGURATED PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES MARCH 4, 1909.” Columbia is seated, holding a scroll in her left hand. Below is a laurel branch with a ribbon inscribed with “E PLURIBUS UNUM.” The Capitol is seen in the background.

Released on Nov. 17, the Taft medal is a stunning addition to the series.
