Traveler’s checks played their part in the postwar occupation of Germany. Most likely because of military considerations, travel was allowed on a restricted basis and only in specified areas. This particular check was an issue of the Stockholms Enskilda Bank from Sweden for use only within the three Western sectors occupied by the U.S., England and France.
