Being a member of a coin club allows you to interact with people who share your love of numismatics. You see what excites others. You share knowledge, exchange ideas and discover new interests. That ancient coin starts you down a new and exciting path. Always something to look forward to, and never a dull moment.

For me the best thing is the positive attitudes and the camaraderie that is displayed. Also the vast knowledge that members have about so many collectable items.

My favorite thing about those clubs and associations is that they’re voluntary. My style is independence so I can read, clean, organize, purchase, etc., on my own. No need in opinion for these other things. I also don’t think the ANA’s fee is justified with so many ads in their publication and little other perks appealing to me.

Two positives: meet interesting people with interests similar to mine and learning more about numismatics.

The network. I’m a member of five clubs. Best decision I have ever made. If I’m looking for a certain coin all I do is mention it to another member. If they don’t have it probably they know someone who does at a great price.
