Should there be a Nobel Prize for numismatic research?

For the Nobel prize, not necessary. More life important issues to consider. Other prizes may be considered.

While it is important for significant accomplishments in numismatic research to be recognized, the idea of a Nobel Prize for it is ridiculous.
Perhaps an endowed prize might some day bear the name of Eric Newman. That is something I could wholeheartedly support.

If the Nobel committee wants to make numismatics the subject of mirth, they should suggest such an award.
Fortunately, they have more dignity than you do in even asking such a question.
