From Thursday, January 29 to Saturday, January 31, 2026, the Estrel Congress Center in Berlin will once again transform into the hub of the coin world: the World Money Fair opens its doors, offering three days of discoveries, encounters, and numismatic passion.

Berlin, November 24, 2025 – The passion for collecting has always been at the heart of the World Money Fair. What began in 1972 in Basel as the ‘International Coin Exchange’ by founder Albert M. Beck has developed into a globally unique platform that brings together collectors, dealers, technical experts, and mints from all continents. This is where passion meets expertise and tradition meets innovation. More than 320 exhibitors from around the world present their treasures, new products, and rare items. State and private mints, auction houses, coin producers, national banks, technical experts, and dealers invite visitors to marvel, talk shop, and buy.

Coins, people, passion: “theplacetobe”

Whether dealer, mint, professional investor, or passionate collector, the World Money Fair appeals to all target groups. For collectors, it is a paradise; for the trade and industry, it is the central platform. The industry overview, international focus, and multitude of innovations make the visit a valuable investment in knowledge, networking, and collectables.

“20 Years of World Money Fair in Berlin.” The World Money Fair has taken place in Berlin since 2006. To mark the 20th anniversary of “Berlin as a trade fair location,” the World Money Fair catalogue will feature an interesting review. “We honor the milestones of the past two decades - many of which bear the signature of my predecessor Barbara Balz while at the same time looking forward with vision,” says Goetz-Ulf Jungmichel, Managing Director of the World Money Fair.

Tower Mint London is the Guest of Honor 2026

Tower Mint London, founded in 1976 by sculptor Raphael Maklouf, will be the official Guest of Honor at the 2026 World Money Fair in Berlin. As London’s last remaining mint, it stands for British craftsmanship, creative excellence, and modern minting technology. To mark its 50th anniversary, Tower Mint will present itself at the 2026 World Money Fair with fresh impulses and a clear commitment to quality, innovation, and cooperative partnership in modern coin production.

Participation encouraged: The “Minting Experience Center”

A special highlight next year will be the “Minting Experience Center” in Convention Hall 2. Here, coin minting becomes an experience: visitors can produce their own limited-edition medal in six production steps - from the blank to the shiny souvenir with the edge inscription “theplacetobe.”

Leading companies such as ANDRITZ Schuler (hydraulic press technology), Spaleck GmbH & Co. KG (surface finishing), Sack & Kiesselbach Maschinenfabrik GmbH, Teca Print AG (pad printing), and Acsys Lasertechnik GmbH demonstrate how minting technology works to perfection. This allows visitors to experience first-hand technology that otherwise works behind the scenes. And the best of all: the finished medal can be taken home as a keepsake in a coin capsule provided by the packaging specialist “Leuchtturm.” Convention Hall 2 has now developed into a fully-fledged exhibition hall. “For the coming year, we have significantly expanded the diversity of offerings through new exhibitors,” reports Jungmichel. Visitors will, for example, also find vendors who craft jewellery from coins. “This adds a trend-conscious and inspiring atmosphere to the World Money Fair.” Another highlight is the banknote exhibition of the Giesecke+Devrient Foundation, which is one of the most important collections of its kind in the world.

Valuable expertise: Independent coin valuation

Another central offer for collectors: those who want to know the value of their coins can have their brought-in collection evaluated free of charge and objectively by experts from the German Coin Dealers Association (Berufsverband des Deutschen Münzenfachhandels e. V.). The association is also one of the key trust seals in the German coin trade: “Collectors can rely on the association’s ‘blue logo.’ It may only be used by companies that maintain a fair and cooperative relationship with their customers,” explains Jungmichel. For visitors, this means not only experiences and trade but also safety and professional advice.

Innovation, investment & live experiences on site

“The fair is not just a marketplace but above all a knowledge hub,” says Jungmichel. “On our ‘Live Stage,’ dealers and minting companies present their innovations and offer insights into investment coins, developments, and new minting technologies.” Those interested in collecting as an investment will find answers to their questions on entering precious metal or numismatic investments in expert talks at the “Investment Forum.” Trade visitors can already exchange views on coin and medal production with industry colleagues the day before at the “Technical Forum.” For a relaxing break, the elaborately designed trade fair restaurant in Foyer 4 offers a varied menu.

World Money Fair Award

To increase visibility within the collector community throughout the year, the World Money Fair has strengthened its social media presence since 2024, especially on Facebook and Instagram. With the “Coin of the Month” format, where followers vote online for the most attractive new gold and silver coins, the foundation was laid for a new audience award. At the 2026 World Money Fair, visitors will for the first time be able to choose the annual winner from the monthly favorites, which will be displayed in a dedicated exhibition. The winning coin will be announced at a ceremony on Saturday, 31 January 2025, at 2 p.m. on the Live Stage.

Künker auctions the day before

Traditionally, the renowned Künker auctions take place the day before the fair - a magnet for international dealers and collectors. Many exhibitors also acquire high-quality pieces there for their fair presentations.

Ticket and admission system ensures more comfort and safety

To make the visit even more pleasant and secure, all tickets will be personalized - meaning that visitors provide their name when purchasing online and then receive their ticket conveniently as a print-at-home file. Online purchase saves time and stress: tickets are available from €18 on the World Money Fair website - up to and including the last day of the fair. Those who prefer spontaneity can also buy tickets on site (from €24). Electronic access controls ensure quick and secure entry. Tickets are scanned when entering and leaving the halls, enabling optimal flow management. “Online tickets significantly reduce waiting times and make the visit more comfortable. At the same time, the controls increase safety for everyone,” emphasizes Jungmichel.

About the World Money Fair:

The World Money Fair is the world's largest coin fair, held annually in Berlin at the end of January/beginning of February. It is the most important event in the international coin industry. Dealers, accessory suppliers, and auction houses from all over the world present their numismatic assortment to collectors, while state mints and private minting facilities showcase their latest products. In the technology section, a wide variety of machine manufacturers and suppliers to the coin industry meet and showcase the entire manufacturing process for coins and medals, from blank production and minting to packaging and the corresponding tool technology. The World Money Fair has continued to evolve since January 1972, when it was first held in Switzerland as the “International Coin Exchange.” Today, during the three-day fair, which has been held in Berlin since 2006, more than 320 exhibitors, including mints and national banks from around 50 countries, present their products and services on 9,000 square meters of exhibition space at the Estrel Congress Center. The World Money Fair also offers investors an excellent opportunity to learn about physical precious metals and their significance as an investment.
