Look to the United Kingdom or Great Britain as our database continues to label it for continuities sake, for a mammoth boost of over 700 new images entered this past month. An addition of almost 1200 master records also to Great Britain indicates that a large percentage of these new issue coins are various differing metal strikes of same designs in same denominations, a practice which the Royal Mint shares with many other mints around the world. Also new to Great Britain are around 400 added detail lines representing increases in our date listings for circulation coinage.

This was a tremendous accomplishment for Jennifer Bushland, who has been spearheading efforts to grow the modern master records on NumisMaster for just over a year now, with stunning results.

Another country showing marked growth is Gibraltar, where over 500 master records were added this past month. About 120 images were also added to Gibraltar, so there is still work to be done. If you happen to collect, study or work in this area, I suggest you contact our staff through the NumisMaster comments process using N@aimmedia.com to offer your assistance as a data or image contributor.

In fact, if you were a contributor on our books and database in the past or would like to share your knowledge as we continue to expand our data on the www.NumisMaster.com website into the future, you can use the N@aimmedia.com email to reach out to our staff and get involved. If you have the knowledge and desire, you could be part of the team that is building and maintaining numismatics longest running, just over 50 years, and most detailed database of world-wide coinage.

One of our other projects with which you are likely familiar is the Coin of the Year Awards. Recently, at the start of 2023, we had the privilege of honoring 2021 dated coinage. You can view the results of this COTY competition in the January, February and March issues of World Coin News or the weekly issues of Numismatic News from the same period.

Last month we moved on to considering 2022 dated coinage, the last of which should have been issued about five months ago. We have received over 500 suggestions of 2022 dated coins to consider for nomination and will meet soon to narrow that group into the next COTY 100. This is a major shift in the COTY processing timeline bringing new opportunities to those who produce, promote and distribute current issue coinage.
