A selection of recently released coins from around the world.
Australia
Renowned as a rare natural beauty, the Australian opal has become the latest star of The Perth Mint’s “Wonders of Australia” series. Focusing on the Outback, the 99.99% silver 1-ounce Australian $1 shows an authentic Australian opal inset at its center. Courtesy of The Perth Mint.

Cameroon
Through a colorful beadwork effect, a bear appears on Mint XXI’s 2-ounce .999 fine silver new issue for Cameroon. The high-relief work is from the “Patterns of the World” collection and depicts Berlin’s heraldic symbol. Courtesy of Mint XXI.

Liberia
Despite being much smaller than its inspiration, the famous religious statue, Christ the Redeemer, stands tall on NumisCollect’s $12 1/1000 oz .999 Au issue for Liberia. The statue with arms outstretched is replicated on the obverse, while the coin’s details are engraved on the reverse. Courtesy of NumisCollect.

Niue
The Lithuanian Mint’s new $5 coin for Niue celebrates a century of scientific achievements. Designed by Arianna Cicconi with an antique finish, it shows symbolic images of major inventions on the obverse and accompanying names and dates on the reverse. Courtesy of Lithuanian Mint.
