Britain’s Royal Mint has launched its 2018 sovereign with its proof collection.
Given this year marks the 65th anniversary of The Queen’s coronation, the coin bears a privy mark showing a royal crown with “65” inside. The mark was designed by Natasha Preece and Joseph Melia. It sits to the right of the date. The obverse effigy is that of Jody Clark.
The complete 2018 sovereign set consist of a 5 sovereign (36.02 mm, 39.94 g), a double sovereign (28.40 mm, 15.976g), sovereign (22.05 mm, 7.98 g), half sovereign (19.30 mm, 3.99 g), and quarter sovereign (13.50 mm, 1.997 g).
All are struck in 0.917 fine red gold. The coins are available individually as well as in sets.
