The Frederick Douglass quarter was introduced April 4 at a special ceremony at the abolitionist’s former home in Washington, D.C.

Over 300 people attended.

After the cermony, $11,000 worth of “P” mintmarked new quarters were exchanged at face value by the Industrial Bank.
