On June 10, Denmark’s Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. To mark the occasion, Danmarks Nationalbank has issued a 38.00 mm, 31.1 g .999 fine silver 500 kroner commemorative coin.

The obverse of new issue features a portrait of the royal couple facing each other, both in three-quarters profile. The legend reads H.M. DRONNINGEN OG H.K.H. PRINSEN [Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince].

The reverse motif shows the conjoined monogram of the Queen and the Prince along with the years marked by the wedding anniversary. Both designs are by medalist Henrik Wiberg. They also feature on a 20 kroner bronze that comes in both proof and circulation versions.
