The Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee would like to see that accomplishment recognized with a commemorative coin program.

It unanimously supported a 2019 Apollo 11 Moon Landing 50th Anniversary Commemorative Coinage Program when it met March 5 in Portland, Ore.

The recommended program would include a $5 gold coin, $1 silver coin and half dollar clad coin.

“I think this is a no-brainer,” said CCAC Chairman Gary Marks.

Apollo 11 landed on the moon July 20, 1969.
