1836 Gobrecht $1 brings $17,000 at recent auction
An 1836 Gobrecht dollar brought $17,000 at a Nov. 9 auction conducted by Sonny Henry’s Auction Service of Mendota, Ill.
The coin was graded Proof-50 by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation.
A 1922 Saint-Gaudens $20 gold piece graded NNC MS-65 was bid to $4,225 while a 1923 graded MS-65 by the Professional Coin Grading Service brought $4,250.
An 1884-CC Morgan dollar graded PCGS MS-65 DMPL realized $1,300.
