What’s New in NumisMaster: June 2025

June’s update on new entries, pricing, and images for the NumisMaster database.

“Barolo and Chocolate” (KM# 565) is Italy’s newest coin from their series “Italian Food and Wine Culture” series. The coin shows various types of chocolate bars and desserts in the lower section of the coin, with a barrel, decanter, and glass of Barolo in the upper section. In the center of the coin is the Mole Antonelliana, with the Alps skyline in the background.

Spring has sprung over here in NumisMaster, and it is difficult not to gaze out the window and see all that’s beginning to blossom and turn green. But we must stay focused on the task at hand.

We started this month with a significant metals update. With the rising prices of gold, silver, platinum, and palladium, this large update, which previously was done every quarter, has changed to an “as demand” basis. This update influences hundreds of thousands of coins, which reflect their respective metals. It also updates a large number of pricing fields, especially bullion coins.

While this update was occurring, we added new issues of coins and bank notes to various countries, accumulating almost 300 between the two currencies. Spot pricing in Canada, Guatemala, Mozambique, and Haiti was also completed this month.

As you read further in this issue, you will see on page 32 the top 100 selections for this year’s Coin of The Year (COTY), which goes hand in hand with NumisMaster. You can find the 100 coins that made it through the nomination process by typing “COTY 2024” in the keyword search. Selecting each coin will show you their nominated category.

This Month’s Frequently Asked Question:

This month, we received a couple of emails asking if the NumisMaster pricing reflected retail or wholesale prices. The majority of our prices are from wholesale. However, there are prices that reflect retail sales, and these are found in the newest issues to be released.
