This is a really intriguing Vermont proof. A Series of 1902 Date Back 50-50-50-100 plate was made for this Randolph bank in 1915 when the corporate life of the bank was extended for a third time. It was used to produce 400 sheets of Date Backs, all of which were sent to the bank.
A Plain Back printing followed, but only 38 of those sheets were issued before the bankers sold their bonds in 1927, yielding the distinction of being the smallest number of any large-size sheet combination released within the entire state.
Two of the $50 Date Backs are reported. A sleeper would be one of the Plain Back $50s or $100s.
