Numismatic UK Tour 2025 – Final Day
The last day on the 2025 Numismatic Tour led us to the National Museum Cardiff and St Fagans National Museum of History before we said goodbye.
A wonderful week spent together, and it unfortunately has to come to an end. We finished our numismatic tour with a couple of non-numismatic museums. Packing our bags and heading to the tour bus, we didn’t head back to London right away. The morning was spent going through the National Museum Cardiff, just a few minutes down the road from our hotel. The museum is quite large, and we probably could have spent the whole day there going through all the different exhibits. My personal favorite was the Picture Post: A Twentieth Century Icon exhibition. Picture Post was a photo-magazine in the 1930s to 1950s, capturing everyday life.
After a couple of hours in the museum, we headed to lunch in St Fagans, after which we had time to wander the St Fagans National Museum of History. The open-air museum displayed the history of Wales. From the Iron Age huts to the St Fagans castle and castle gardens, it was a beautiful museum and fascinating to see how people lived through the ages.
Finally, we headed back to London to end our day. One last dinner together to celebrate the week, sharing our favorite moments (I think it’s safe to say most would agree The Royal Mint was a highlight), and making sure we will continue to stay in touch. Some will continue their travels tomorrow, and the rest will head home. Hopefully, we will get to see each other again soon at the next big coin show, and maybe even on the 2026 tour.
