Similar to Sophia Mattimiro and Jeff Starck’s journey to China, Münze Österreich engraver Helmut Andexlinger toured the country’s major numismatic sites. During the many stops of his trip, Andexlinger witnessed the striking of the 2025 Chinese “Silver Dragon” coin, presented on his COTY 2025-winning Supernova design at a conference on the COTY Awards in Shenzhen, and attended a seminar about the “Legend of Chu” $10 silver coin for Niue at the Macau International Coin Convention.

On his international visit, Andexlinger wrote in an article in the World Money Fair special edition of the Journal of East Asian Numismatics, “This journey was far more than a business trip. It was an intensive cultural and professional exchange, carried by mutual respect and a shared passion for coin art. The impressions and experiences gained during this time have expanded my artistic horizon and reaffirmed the very purpose of exchange: continuous learning, reflection, and growth. Such encounters are an essential part of artistic development, ensuring that one does not remain static but continues to evolve creatively.”
