Mint Stats: 2011 Buffalo gold proof debuts

It was out with the old and in with the new for the 1 ounce gold proof Buffalo. The U.S. Mint discontinued sales of the 2010 American Buffalo gold proof coin on May 19 when it launched sales of the 2011 coin. Sales from noon May 19 to noon May 25 totaled 7,500 coins. There is no mintage or household order limit on the coin.

The U.S. Mint discontinued sales of the 2010 American Buffalo gold proof coin on May 19 when it launched sales of the 2011 coin.

Sales from noon May 19 to noon May 25 totaled 7,500 coins. There is no mintage or household order limit on the coin.

Meanwhile, the 2010 America the Beautiful 5-ounce silver uncirculated collector coin almost sold out in its first week of sales from the Mint. The coin went on sale May 17 and by May 22 24,626 of the 27,000 coins that were minted had been sold. The next coin in the series, the 2010 Yosemite ATB collector coin is set to go on sale June 9.

Interest continues in the American Eagle gold bullion coins, with 8,500 1-ounce coins sold in the past week and ,000 half-ounce coins. Sales of American Buffalo 1 ounce gold bullion coins increased by 4,000.
