Edge lettering, shown here on the proof version of the 30th anniversary silver one-ounce American Eagle coin, will also appear on the uncirculated version out Dec. 1.

The uncirculated version of the 30th anniversary silver one-ounce American Eagle coin will go on sale Dec. 1.

Like its proof cousin, it will have lettering on the edge rather than standard reeding. The lettering says “30th Anniversary.”

The proof is priced at $53.95. The uncirculated coin should be somewhat less. No mintage has yet been set.

The uncirculated coin has a “W” mintmark on it. This is one of the ways used to distinguish it from the standard bullion product. Also, the Mint can sell the mintmarked coin directly to collectors while it cannot directly sell the bullion coin.
