Mountain Grove is a town with a population of a little under 5,000 located in the Ozarks east of Springfield on US 60.
The bank had a small circulation that was supported by modest numbers of Series of 1902 notes and small numbers of 1929 notes. A handful of notes are reported from it.
The town name has charm, so it caught my eye as I was digging through the Missouri proofs. Just the type of town name needed to dress up a collection.
