Do collectors really spend less money on coins in the summertime?
Here are some answers sent from our e-newsletter readers to Editor Dave Harper.
Yes, people do spend less on coins during the summer. The season throws more choices for the money towards people. Those that serious plan their strategy do spend during the summer, although I can still [see] a smaller amount being spent.

I haven’t stopped buying coins. I probably buy more during the summer than any other time of the year. Although, I’ve found myself being a lot more picky when it comes down to Morgan dollars in MS-66. I don’t like the hits on the check. To me that’s MS-65. Other coins before 1960, I prefer BU rolls. I’m still working on my Buffalo nickels in high grade. I look for the nickels year round. Hey, you never know!

I have been buying 90 percent silver in small quantities all summer. As much as I can afford.
