While we don’t have sales numbers yet, we will see how quickly the U.S. Mint will be able to sell out the 10,000 proof platinum Eagles for 2010. Sales began just as this issue was going to press.

The silver Eagles is showing 497,000 for the month of August so far. And that seems as if its been slowing down for the last few days.

The 1 ounce gold American Eagle number is 18,000 so far in August, but perhaps the real story this week is that the Mint sold another 15,000 1/10th ounce coins.

One ounce Buffalo sales stand at 7,500 and this week the proof version didn’t have enough energy to reach the nice round number of 25,000. Instead it stands at 24,891.

And just so the Mint will know that we’re not forgetting them, the sales numbers for the Disabled Veterans dollar stand at 154,993 for the proof and 65,728 for the uncirculated version. Collectors have until the end of the year to purchase as many as they want, so order now, because as you can see there is no waiting.
