UHR gold $20 number gets last kick up
There was a slight jump in the pace of sales for the Ultra High Relief Saint-Gaudens $20 as 2009 ended. An updated number shows sales of 115,178 coins, up by 3,113 from the number reported two weeks ago.
There was a slight jump in the pace of sales for the Ultra High Relief Saint-Gaudens $20 as 2009 ended. An updated number shows sales of 115,178 coins, up by 3,113 from the number reported two weeks ago. Last week there was simply a notice that the coin had gone off sale, so all I could do was place the asterisk on the prior week’s number.
Sales of 2009 silver American Eagles continued into 2010. To this week’s reported number we must add another 106,000 coins and the news that the Mint has run out of them. Authorized purchasers were notified of this Jan. 12. Orders for 2010 bullion coins were to begin Jan. 19.
As of the same Jan. 12 date, the Mint still had 51,000 of the 2009 one-ounce gold American Eagles on hand. If any remain when 2010 coins go on sale, purchasers will be required to take 2009 coins at a ratio of 3 2010s to 1 2009.
The circulation mintages of Lincoln cents now appear on the chart as well.
