The 2016 Mark Twain gold $5 coins have arrived, but collectors will need to wait for the Twain silver dollars.

The United States Mint released the Twain gold $5 coins on Jan. 14 as scheduled. Collectors purchased 2,990 uncirculated and 5,993 proof coins since its release to Jan. 17.

The Mint delayed the release of the Twain silver dollars to fix an error on their certificates of authenticity. A new release date for the Twain silver dollars has not been announced.

Sales are coming back up for the 2015 Native American Dollar Coin and Currency set. Over four thousand sets were returned to the Mint from Jan. 3 to Jan. 10. Since then, sales went up 435 sets to 84,494 sold by Jan. 17.

Gold Eagle bullion coin sales in January of 2016, at 95,500 ounces by Jan. 20, have surpassed January 2015’s total of 81,000 ounces. In terms of total coins sold, 2016 is still behind 2015 by just 500 gold Eagles.
