Mint Stats: Presidential proof set gets good start

Presidential dollar coins prove once again that they have found a strong following among collectors. The four-coin 2013 Presidential proof set goes on the charts this week for the first time with a sales number of 119,765.

Presidential dollar coins prove once again that they have found a strong following among collectors. The four-coin 2013 Presidential proof set goes on the charts this week for the first time with a sales number of 119,765. That is already half as many as the 2012 set and just in a few days. That’s customer loyalty. If that were true of the 2013-W proof silver American Eagle, its ongoing total would be at least another 100,000 higher than the current 320,898 number.

The three-roll sets of PDS White Mountain quarters seem to be catching on. The 4,573 sold so far is a figure almost as great as the single “S” 40-coin roll. It is running behind the two-roll set, but the three-roll set is a new product and many collectors probably haven’t noticed that it is available.

February bullion coin sales are lagging the sales pace of January, but that is a standard pattern. Commemorative sales are about to begin so the 2012 figures below will disappear soon.
