Bullion buyers made September the third most active gold Eagle sales month. for the year 2016.
The month was not as robust for silver buyers. Silver Eagles sold totaled 1,675,000. This figure is 395,000 coins more than the yearly low set in August.
October Eagle sales began strongly. In the first couple of days of availability, 8,500 one-ounce gold coins were taken by Authorized Purchasers, and 530,000 of the silver Eagles were bought.
Another 24,391 30th anniversary proof silver Eagles were purchased by collectors, bringing the running total to 387,494.
Sales of other Mint products creep ahead. The pace should quicken when the Mint’s annual catalog is sent to everyone on its mailing list. The holidays approach.
