Maybe it’s a matter of wanting what we can’t have. The 2013-dated coins were first released in mid-May. Or maybe it’s because the price has dropped as precious metal prices have dropped.
Whatever the reason, White Mountain sales are putting last year’s 5-ounce coin sales to shame. As of May 20, the Mint had sold 23,300 bullion coins to the Authorized Purchasers network. The numismatic collector coin, priced at $179.95, saw initial sales at 10,605.
Speaking of lower prices for silver, the U.S. Mint has decided to drop the price of four silver products.
The 2012 and 2013 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Sets have dropped from $41.95 to $36.95. The 2013 silver proof set has dropped from $67.95 to $60.95, and the Congratulations set has dropped from $64.95 to $59.95.
