Mint Statistics: Uncirculated Eagle stalls under 100,000

Losing its oomph this week was the 2018-W uncirculated collector version of the silver American Eagle bullion coin. It went on the board a week ago for the first time at under 90,000 pieces. Another 5,980 were sold in the succeeding seven days. The running total is now 95,462. For comparison, the 2017-W uncirculated total is 176,568. For the proof 2018-W silver Eagle, the results were an additional 1,731 to raise the running tally to 274,607. Bullion silver Eagle sales are still slow. So far in June, 100,000 have been sold. The figure for the entire month of May was 380,000.

Sales of bags and rolls of uncirculated Apostle Islands quarters are not setting the world on fire. Unusually, I have already received them in change. Is a faster pace of release dampening orders for collector quantities?
