Proof 2018-W silver American Eagles are in the spotlight this week. Why? Sales did not decline. The weekly advance was counted in the thousands rather than the hundreds as most other categories were. Sales of the proof stand at 245,901, up 11,233.

World War I commemorative silver dollar proofs rose by 2,866 to reach 39,596. The uncirculated version rose by 871 to 15,979. The silver medal sets jiggled higher by a few hundred here and there. Sales of the medal sets are concluded, so the numbers below won’t change much going forward.

Sales of the American Liberty tenth-ounce 2018 gold proof coin rose by 739 this week to reach 17,250. At the current pace, it will take another three years to reach the 135,000 potential maximum.

For 2017-W silver Eagles, 600 was the magic number. Proofs rose by that amount, and the uncirculated by 609. This is a bit unusual.
