Mint sells out 2013 sets – finally

The United States Mint has removed the rest of 2013’s mint and proof sets. Buyers purchased 128,377 America the Beautiful clad quarter sets and 138,451 silver quarter proof sets, as well as 266,729 Presidential dollar proof sets. As for the standard uncirculated coin set, collectors ordered 376,844 2013 sets before sell out.

The Mint released the new 2015 silver American Eagle bullion coin on Jan. 12. Buyers ordered 3,614,500 Eagles in just the first two days of being on sale.

Gold American Eagle bullion coin sales numbers are doing well. Released on Jan. 5, Authorized Purchasers have ordered 32,500 one-ounce, 16,000 half-ounce, 30,000 quarter-ounce and 85,000 tenth-ounce coins. Sales of the 2015 half-ounce and quarter-ounce have already surpassed the entire January sales for the 2014 issues.
