Sales of the 2011 silver proof American Eagle vaulted higher by 133,420 while the one-ounce gold proof American Eagle jumped by 4,514. Buyers also seemed to have developed a new fondness for the 9/11 medals. The West Point version saw sales of 9,830 this week, pushing the cumulative total up by almost 24 percent to 51,289.
