Collectors were not exactly panting over the arrival of the Girl Scouts Young Collectors Set. Just 1,474 were taken in the opening days of sales. The “set” has just an uncirculated Girl Scout dollar in it and it is priced at $54.95.
The 2013-W silver American Eagle proof coin broke through the 600,000 mark and reached 609,718.
The standard 14-coin 2013-S proof set has a running tally of 467,771. Last year’s set sold nearly 800,000, so the 2013 set has a long way to go yet to catch up.
Gold bullion American Eagle one-ounce coins rose by 10,500 to bring the July running total to 30,500. The question is will July outsell June’s total of 49,000. So far in 2013, June’s sales total is the lowest monthly figure.
The 100-coin bags of Roosevelt Presidential dollars had a good week, with sales rising by roughly 500 bags of both Philadelphia and Denver issues. The McKinley 100-coin bags added roughly the same amount.
