The citizens of Moravia, N.Y., will be pleased to see sales results for Presidential dollar coin rolls honoring native son Millard Fillmore. Sales have only just started this week, but already the totals have reached two-thirds of the results of the prior couple of Presidents and zoomed ahead of the Native American dollar roll totals even though they had a more than three-week head start.
Who knew Fillmore would be so instantly popular? It probably can’t last, but for at least one week, the 13th President can take a bow.
The 2010 Presidential dollar proof set also registered a strong increase of 76,526 to bring the running total to 300,952, roughly half of the 2009 number, but sales have only just begun.
Another 800,000 silver American Eagle coins were added to the February sales total. That will be it for the month. The next Eagle offering to distributors will fall in the month of March.
