Though there is virtually no evidence that they are appearing in the market anywhere, the Mint’s back office says 142,000 of the 165,000 America the Beautiful 5-ounce silver bullion coins are spoken for. It is simply a matter of procedure for the rest to be taken.
Sales of the proof 2010 silver American Eagle continue to slow down. Just 38,066 more were taken in the latest week. 834,879 have been sold.
But talk about slow, only 349 additional proof 2010 Buffalo gold coins were sold in the same time period.
The bullion American Eagles are moving out the door much faster. Another 29,000 one-ounce gold American Eagles were sold as well as an additional 700,000 silver American Eagles.
Asterisks went on the Disabled Vets silver dollars. By the end, collectors took 76.5 percent of the maximum possible mintage, but that was a low 350,000. The same number of Boy Scout coins sold out in just a few days early this year.
