Mint Statistics: AWQ Silver Proof Set Releases
After a fast and furious run of new U.S. Mint releases, we can slow down enough to catch our breath this week. Just one new product has been added to the charts: the 2022 American Women quarter silver proof set.
This latest set contains five 99.9 fine silver proof versions of the American Women quarter program honoring Maya Angelou, Dr. Sally Ride, Wilma Mankiller, Nina Otero-Warren and Anna May Wong. It is the first time coins honoring Mankiller, Otero-Warren and Wong are available, as their circulating versions have not yet been released.
After six days of sales beginning with its release on March 29 through the April 3 end-date of the Mint’s latest report, 57,735 sets have been sold. There are no mintage or household order limits placed on this set, so we will keep an eye on its upward movement.
Bullion is a hot topic these days, with gold and silver showing some up-and-down swings of late. It is in this climate that we find the first posted bullion sales numbers for the month of April. As of April 6, bullion Buffalo gold coins are at 7,000 for the month, bringing the year-to-date total to 161,500. Gold bullion Eagles are on the board with 53,5000 total for all sizes, for a year-to-date total of 836,500. Silver bullion Eagles posted 425,000, bringing the 2022 year-to-date total past the 8-million mark.
