The Mint just could not quite sell out of its supplies of America the Beautiful 5-ounce silver coins in this reporting period. The collector version of the Hot Springs design nearly made it to the 27,000 number available but is still 134 short of a sellout. The coin was still offered on the Mint’s Web site May 11.

For the two 2011 bullion versions, the Gettysburg and Glacier, the numbers are 1,300 shy of initial supplies of each. The Mint can strike more, but has not yet indicated whether it will do so.

A home on these pages will have to be found for the 2011 “W” uncirculated American Eagle one-ounce gold coin. Sales began May 5 and as of May 9, 1,098 had been sold. That figure hardly beats the 1,046 increase in the one-ounce proof gold Eagle this week. The pace of sales of the proof gold Eagle options continues to slow down.
