Mint Statistics: 2022 Proof Set Hits Market

22rg_b

The 2022 version of the ever-popular U.S. Mint clad proof set is the sole addition to this week’s charts. The set, selling a total of 222,746 units in just the first four days of availability, contains 10 proof coins, all of which bear the “S” mintmark. These are: all five of the 2022 American Women quarters, those honoring Maya Angelou, Dr. Sally Ride, Wilma Mankiller, Nina Otero-Warren and Anna May Wong; a Kennedy half dollar; a Roosevelt dime; a Jefferson nickel; and a Lincoln cent.

While the precious metals market continues to fluctuate, we see a quiet week on the bullion sales front. The Mint reported no new numbers for gold Buffalo bullion coins, as well as American Eagle gold and silver bullion coins.

Next week’s Stats will bring a little more action with the release of two American Eagle products: the 2022 1-ounce silver proof coin and the 2022 Congratulations set containing the silver proof Eagle on April 14. We will round out the month with an April 26 release of bags and rolls of the American Innovation dollar honoring Vermont, the second in the series to be issued in 2022.
