Coin Collecting in the “Lion City”
Numismatists gather at the Singapore International Coin Fair.
As Southeast Asia's business and cultural capital, Singapore always stays busy. During a three-day weekend in late March, the "Lion City" was also the must-visit destination for an international crew of currency collectors attending the Singapore International Coin Fair (SICF).
Occurring at the Singapore landmark that is the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre, SICF hosted tens of thousands of visitors and provided tabling space for hundreds of representatives from throughout the numismatics industry, such as professional grading companies, dealers, auction houses, and more. The event's specialties were coins and bank notes, including collecting cards, stamps, and related items. Also on the event's schedule were talks and presentations, free currency authentication and valuation, and daily prize draws.
On his company's experience at this year's SICF, T&S Coin's Evaldas Stralkus explains, "T&S Coin's participation in (SICF) marks an important step in exploring opportunities in this region. A special thanks to the organizers for their warm welcome and for hosting such a well-curated, engaging fair. Their energy and Singapore's collector community made this event truly memorable and inspired us to dive deeper into Asian market. We returned with valuable insights and renewed motivation to expand and create new stories minted in coins."
