Mint increases bronze medal prices

Due to rising metals prices, the U.S. Mint announced price hikes for its bronze medals.

Price increases took effect March 18 for First Spouse medals and March 25 for all other medals.

For First Spouse medals the price increased from $3.50 to $5.50. They are 1-5/16th inches in diameter.

The 2009 First Spouse Five Medal Set will remain at $15.95.

The price for 3-inch bronze medals will increase from $38 to $42.

The price for the 1.5-inch bronze medals will increase from $3.75 to $6.

All other 1-5/16th inch medals will increase from $3.50 to $5.50.

The Mint says 3-inch medals have not increased in price since 2002 and the last increase for small medals was in 2005.
