A limited edition elongated cent has been produced to mark the Hawaiian Railway Society’s annual Halloween train ride event, “Spookapalooza.”

The nighttime rides are about 30 minutes long and include ghost stories as the train travels through the darkness in Ewa Beach, Hawaii. More information on the event is online at www.hawaiianrailway.com.

Michael Mochizuki of Hawaii is heading an elongated coin fund-raiser named “The Aloha Project” to benefit the Hawaii chapter of the American Red Cross for Japanese tsunami relief. The elongated design, rolled on copper cents, features the word “aloha” with the “o” colored red to represent the Japanese flag.
