The 2022 Kennedy half dollar gets the green light on May 5, when 200-coin bags and two-roll sets become available for online purchase from the U.S. Mint.

The half dollar, released annually, features the original 1964 obverse design with the image of President John F. Kennedy. The design inscriptions on the obverse are “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST” and “2022.” The reverse design is based on the Presidential Coat of Arms. Inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and “HALF DOLLAR.”

The two-roll set contains a total of 40 coins with circulating finishes: one roll of 20 coins minted at the Philadelphia Mint and one roll of 20 coins minted at the Denver Mint. These coins have never been placed into circulation.

The Mint notes, “United States Mint coins are rolled by an automated machine process and not by hand. We cannot guarantee that the obverse or reverse side of a coin will be at either end of a coin roll.”

Sets are priced at $34.50 each. While there is no mintage limit placed on the coins, there is a product limit of 22,000. There is no household order limit.

Kennedy half dollar bags contain 200 coins with circulating finishes: 100 minted at Philadelphia and 100 minted at Denver. These coins have never been placed into circulation.

Bags are $34.50 each. Like the roll sets, there is no mintage or household order limit, but the product is capped at 11,000.
