A rare VF-20 Original Series $50 National Bank Note of the Cape Cod National Bank of Harwich, Mass., will highlight an auction to be conducted online Oct. 16-17 on Proxibid by Weaver’s Signature Coin & Currency Auctions of Easton, Mo.
The note, the firm says, is graded by PMG and is the stuff of dreams for the consigner, an unidentified woman who bought it in 1985 after the bank she worked for, St. Joseph, Mo., First National Bank, had failed and its assets were auctioned by the Federal Deposit Insuarance Corpoation.
Then she put it away until now.
