Minted Assets and ANA Unveil 2025 World’s Fair of Money Commemoratives
For the second year in a row, the biggest American coin show will have official coins of its own.
Minted Assets, in conjunction with the American Numismatic Association, is releasing official commemorative coins to mark the ANA’s annual World’s Fair of Money, in Oklahoma City. The show is scheduled from Aug. 19 to 23, 2025.
The 2025 coins are issued for the Ascension Islands, and like similar coins issued for the 2024 event in Rosemont, Ill., feature designs by American artist Joel Iskowitz. Like last year’s issue, the distributor is handing out approximately 250 coins daily for four days of the 2025 event. The coins will be available at Minted Assets tables (1132 and 1134)—beginning at 1 p.m. on Aug. 19, and at noon every day thereafter, through Aug. 23. Coins will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
Iskowitz will be at the Minted Assets table on Aug. 21 to meet with visitors.
Designs
The obverse design shows an allegorical figure of NOMISMA, the Greek word for "money." She is shown holding the Oklahoma quarter, which serves as the World's Fair of Money 2025 logo. In place of the 2008 quarter issue date, the signature of Susan Gamble—the quarter's designer—is displayed. "E. Pluribus Unum" (Out of Many, One) graces the legend as a fitting tribute to the show's mission of bringing the people in the hobby together.
"Minted Assets is proud to release this historic legal tender coin honoring the ANA World’s Fair of Money," said Chang Bullock, founder and president of Minted Assets. "These coins pay tribute to numismatic icon James Earle Fraser and his most famous sculpture 'The End of the Trail' which is displayed at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City."
The reverse of the coin highlights the famous statue. The model used for the statue was Chief John Big Tree, also one of three models used on the famed Buffalo nickel, which Fraser designed. On the coin, a lone bald eagle flies over the statue, while a medallic form of Fraser is displayed in the lower right.
Multiple versions
Three different legal tender coin types are being issued, led by the Reverse Proof silver-plated base metal version being distributed at the show.
In addition, Minted Assets is issuing 500 Proof 1-ounce silver coins and 100 Proof 1-ounce gold coins. These precious metal coins all have edge lettering at the 6 o’clock position that shows Chief John Big Tree’s name.
Bullock said all of these coins are being struck at the Osborne Mint, and all of the packaging is being made in the United States of America.
Bullock will have graded and raw versions of the precious metal coins available for sale during the show.
