MintStatistics: Comic Art Release Soars
Superman coins headline this month’s U.S. Mint report, alongside strong debuts for the Texas American Innovation dollar and Stacey Park Milburn quarter.
This month, the report has many notable editions. First is the addition of the Texas American Innovation dollar. The initial numbers are quite high. The Philadelphia 25-count roll has the highest sales of all the innovation dollars listed in the report, an impressive beginning to the dollar’s sales.
The Stacey Park Milburn quarters were also added, but they were released not long before this report was made, so the low numbers are to be expected.
The highly anticipated, perhaps even controversial, Superman coin and medals were released this month. The first in the Comic Art collection has been added to the far left-hand side of the report's first page. The numismatic community has had much to say about these coins and medals since the U.S. Mint first announced them. Many have been waiting to see how well they would do in terms of sales, and at first glance, they seem to be doing well. The gold proof has well over 5,000, and the 1-ounce silver medal is inching close to 16,000. The 2.5-ounce silver medal isn’t doing too badly either, with just over 12,000.
