Silver Shines During Product Release Slowdown

Silver continues its charge this week as we see a bit of a dry spell on new releases from the Mint. This marks the second week of no new products to add to the charts.

The silver spotlight is still shining on 2019 proof sets. The silver proof set saw a healthy gain of 8,371 as it reached a total of 313,520. Even more impressive is the clad proof set total of 430,510, a more than 3.75 percent increase of 15,584 over last week.

Close behind the proof sets in popularity is the 2019 proof silver American eagle 1-ounce coin, whose total now stands at 118,636. This marks an increase of 3,667 compared to last week.

Smaller-size gold bullion eagle coins saw nice increases this time around. Of note is the 1/10-ounce coin that registered a 10,000-unit gain.

With a lot of buzz surrounding the American Innovation coins right now, it’s worth pointing out the performance of the 2018 American Innovation $1 “S” proof coin. It saw a healthy jump of 3,320 this week. On the other hand, the 2018 $1 reverse proof set saw a decrease in number by 49.

Even though the United States Mint Ornament saw a modest gain from 4,067 to 4,170, it has us looking ahead to the holiday gift-giving season – even if begrudgingly so! What kind of interest will holiday-branded products garner? Which offerings will be must-haves this year?
