Roosevelt dollar and medal set released

Sales of the Roosevelt Presidential Dollar and First Spouse Medal Set began Oct. 21, with buyers purchasing 1,464 sets as of Oct. 26. That figure is already 330 more than the Hoover set, which came out the week before.

Also released was the 2014 proof one- ounce platinum American Eagle coin on Oct. 20. Some 3,341 were taken by collectors as of Oct. 26.

Oct. 28 marked the issuance of the 2014 four-coin silver Kennedy half dollar set. More information on the set’s sales can be found on Page 1.

Silver American Eagle bullion coin sales are just 310,000 coins shy of matching the January number, the best month of sales for 2014. Next week’s Mint Statistics will tell whether October sales beat out January’s.

Buyers purchased 8,500 one-ounce gold American Eagle bullion coins since last report. This brings the October monthly sales of the coin to 50,500, matching the September figure.

With three more days to go in October, it already is safe to say the month’s bullion sales overall are impressive.
