Nixon’s back – on a dollar coin, that is

President Richard Nixon is now on the dollar as the Mint released his Presidential dollar coin Feb. 3. As of Feb. 7, collectors have purchased 29,639 Philadelphia and 27,922 Denver 25-coin rolls, 757 Philadelphia and 717 Denver 100-coin bags and 2,707 Philadelphia and 2,375 Denver 250-coin boxes.

The first America the Beautiful release for 2016, the Shawnee National Forest quarters, arrived Feb. 1. Orders amounted to 1,812 Philadelphia, 1,929 Denver and 2,691 San Francisco 100-coin bags by Feb. 7. The Mint also sold 6,960 two-roll Philadelphia and Denver sets, 2,716 San Francisco rolls and 6,860 three-roll sets featuring a roll from each mint during that time period.

Updated sales numbers are available for the Mark Twain silver dollar with 37,198 proof and 14,576 uncirculated coins sold since their Feb. 1 release.

The 2016 5-ounce silver coin mintages have been added, though the limits may change to meet bullion demand.
