Mint Stats: First Spouse medal set list lengthens
The Mint decided that the end of the year was a good time to tie up at least one loose end.
The Mint decided that the end of the year was a good time to tie up at least one loose end. In this final report of 2013, the sales figures for the Presidential $1 Coin & First Spouse Medal Sets issued in 2013 were added to the weekly figures. The 2013 First Spouse gold coins on which these sets are based became available starting in November. Each set contains a medal rather than an expensive gold coin. Nevertheless, the sales figures are almost as low as for the gold coins themselves.
To make room for these sets, the listing of 2012 proof coin sets now has been pared back to those that remain on sale.
The Roosevelt Coin & Chronicles set was added under miscellaneous with sales of 5,754. The 2013 Limited Edition Silver Proof Set was added below with sales of 29,153. Sales in 2012 were 50,169.
One-ounce gold American Eagle bullion coins added 4,000 in sales to bring the December total to 53,500 coins and the annual total to 743,500.
