Mint Stats: End of year means end of Mint offers

More and more Mint items are going off sale as we close in on New Year’s.

More and more Mint items are going off sale as we close in on New Year’s. All 2013 bullion five-ounce America the Beautiful bullion coins have sold as well as three of the five “P” collector versions. Only Fort McHenry and Mount Rushmore collector versions are still available. Sales of silver American Eagle bullion coins stand at 42,623,000 and that should be it for the year barring accounting adjustments.

There was a jump of 368 pieces in the number of 5-Star General gold $5 uncirculated coins sold this week. When overall sales stand at 5,225, that’s a lot.

Interest in the 2013 14-coin silver proof set is virtually the same as last year, but there is a noticeable drop in the silver five-quarter set and the clad five-quarter set compared to last year. Sales of clad proof sets are behind 2012 levels, but close enough that they can catch up. The four-coin Presidential set is in a virtual tie with last year’s sales number. Will the 2013 set be on sale much longer?
