Mint Stats: Chester Arthur back on press
It’s definite. The U.S. Mint will strike more Chester Arthur dollar coins. Last week sales numbers vaulted totals to over 6 million coins, a figure in excess of the 5.74 million that had been minted and reported. This week added additional coins to that figure.
It’s definite. The U.S. Mint will strike more Chester Arthur dollar coins. Last week sales numbers vaulted totals to over 6 million coins, a figure in excess of the 5.74 million that had been minted and reported. This week added additional coins to that figure. How many coins will collectors buy in the end? 10 million? 15 million?
Sales of proof silver Eagles plunged dramatically this week, adding only 29,117 to the cumulativetotal. Are collectors already saving their money for the 2-coin proof and reverse proof San Francisco set to be offered in June?
They certainly aren’t spending their money buying additional America the Beautiful 5-ounce coins. The 2011 collector coins saw each total increase by a hundred or so this week. No 5-ounce bullion coins were sold at all.
Proof gold 2012 American Eagles hit the charts this week with a fairly weak performance. Each sales option hovered around 5 percent of the total available, a very ominous start for anyone looking for a sellout. The 4-coin 2011 proof gold set is still being sold. Sales stand at 18,077 with a 40,000 ceiling.
